Something to Think About

Every time I'm back in my hometown, where there is absolutely nothing to do unless you feel like spending a lot of money, I go to Amazon.com and my library's website and pretty much put every book (that I can) from my wishlist on hold. "What Happens Here" by Tara Altebrando had been on my wishlist since the beginning of summer, and I just couldn't bring myself to read it because the cover didn't look to enticing to me. But yesterday I began reading it at 11:30 pm and didn't stop until 2:15 am when I was finished. I never expected it to be so good!

"What Happens Here" will honestly make you re-evaluate any close friendship you have and really appreciate those who are in your life, and to not take anything for granted. I don't know what I was expecting when I began reading it, but when I was finished I just wanted to tell everyone to go read it! With the theme of this book, as well as recent losses in my circle of friends and family, it's made me realize that I really need to have a better outlook on life and not just sit around, waiting for something exciting to happen.

Look for more on Thursday, New Years Resolution time!

Happy New Years Everyone! Hope you have a great celebration - and be safe!

My First Blog

Now I know that Myspace was created initially so everyone could share their blogs, pictures, interests etc. But I have enjoyed reading people's blogs here on Blogspot so much that I decided to get one of my own! I'm not really sure what I'll be writing about, maybe just my every day activities and such.

Here's what's going on in my life right now:

-On break from Cal Poly and cannot WAIT to get back for New Years Eve!
-Just finished the combined writings of Maureen Johnson, Lauren Myracle & John Green in "Let it Snow." Such cute three stories - would recommend it for a good "curl up by the fire" book
-Spending my days watching movies (Harry Potter & Lifetime!) and knitting scarves for my friends

It's amazing how during the schoolyear, all I want is a week long break to do absolutely nothing. Do you have any idea how boring doing NOTHING is?! Neither did I until I experienced it for the last week. Luckily more of my friends are starting to return home from school so I've been hanging out with them

On tap for tonight: I'm making my best friend Parmesan - Baked Salmon, roasted red potatoes, and lemon pepper asparagus. Dessert = homemade lemon poppyseed muffins. mmm

Who wants to guess what my major is?!

Until later....
